The development and production of NOVAR reactive power regulators is one of the main activities of the company, which is consistent with a relatively wide offer of various solutions. This review shows devices that allow optimal control of reactive power compensation in automatic mode. The product range includes both classic regulators for use in conjunction with electromechanical starters, and components for fast compensation systems - a fast regulator and thyristor switching units. KMB systems also supplies other accessories and components for compensation, such as starters, chokes, thyristor blocks for fast and smooth switching, and other components.

 Principle of regulation
  • The controller response time is separately programmed for the case of overcompensation and undercompensation
  • the set response time is reduced in proportion to the current regulation error, and optionally either in a quadratic dependence, or directly proportional to the ratio of the regulation error to the value of the smallest capacitor stage (C/kMIN), an increasing regulation error can reduce the reaction time to a maximum of 5 sec
  • adjustable control bandwidth to reduce the number of regulatory influences in compensation systems with a wide control range at high load, possibility of network decompensationpossibility of switching harmonic filters

  • customizable two-tariff mode controlled by the direction of active energy transfer
Configuration of measurements and connected stages
  • automatic recognition of connection method
  • arbitrary combination of connecting the measured voltage and current
  • automatic recognition of the connection and rated voltage of the compensation system when installing the regulator
  • automatic recognition of the type and size of control stages
  • possibility of connecting a completely arbitrary combination of compensation step values
  • possibility of connecting compensating capacitors and chokes
  • clarification, if necessary, removal of erroneous steps, current clarification of the values of recognized steps during the regulation process
  • current monitoring of control stages during the control process, and in case of re-detection of a fault, temporary removal of the faulty stage from the control process and possible simultaneous activation of an Alarm
  • periodic rechecking of temporarily suspended stages after five days; if the test result is successful (for example, when replacing blown fuses), the stage is returned back to the regulation process
Programmed Alarms
  • separately programmable emergency functions - for visual indication and for controlling emergency exits
  • an accident can be caused by exceeding the current limit, voltage sag, overvoltage or voltage failure if THDI or THDU are out of tolerance, exceeding the CHL limit, cosine exceeding the established limits, transfer of active energy in the opposite direction, exceeding the limit of the number of stage switchings, stage malfunction, temperature exceeding the established limits.
